Visitors are making a virtual tour of  an iconic South Lakes building thanks to the pioneering work of a specialist photographer, Richard Gill,  an architectural, property and design photographer from Sedgwick near Kendal.   Richard has won acclaim for the 360degree panoramas and was delighted to create the images at the imposing Victoria Hall in Grange over Sands

The Victoria Hall is one of Grange’s most prominent and important buildings, home to both the town council and the tourist information centre.  Opened in 1901, it is was built by public subscription to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, and is a Grade Two listed building.

Refurbishment work was completed last month and its fully-equipped theatre – the largest capacity of any hall in the Cartmel peninsula – is available for hire.

Deputy town clerk at Grange, Clare Benbow, said: “The town council is delighted to see the impact of Richard’s virtual tour. We hope it will attract more people to come and use our fabulous theatre.”
